Digital Piano Key Action Diagnostic Properties

This document presents three diagnostic properties to assess digital piano key actions: touchpoint difference, direct action engagement timing, and inertia. In addition, for each of these properties, there is a test method which can be used to quantify (or quickly estimate) the result.

Between Acoustic and Digital Pianos

This document exlores the difference between acoustic and digital pianos so that the learned skills can be transferred between these different types of pianos effectively. The focus is on the sound and the key touch, including the discussion of various properties of piano actions and a few new test methods. Along the way, another but related topic of choosing a digital piano is also discussed.
